Banana bread cupcakes.

When i looked in the fruit bowl this morning i noticed my bananas were looking a little worse for wear and that only means one thing..... Banana Bread!
I'm having lunch with Grandma tomorrow and thought this would be a good chance to test out a recipe i found on this blog for banana bread cupcakes with cream cheese icing.
I think they worked out quite nicely, i'll have to wait for grandmas verdict though, that's the true test.

Crafternoon

It's too windy for the beach on this beautiful sunny day, so i thought i would stay at home and have a good old crafternoon. I've found some great craft projects on a couple of blogs that i follow and thought it'd be a good chance to attempt them.

I love this paper geometric garland that i saw on Mini eco, i thought i would make one as decoration for my stall at an upcoming clothes swap. You can download the template here

Follow the call of the disco ball

Lucky me! Gorman, that is Lisa Gorman, grew up in my home town dear old Warrnambool. Once a year or so she rents out an empty shop front to sell her stock at a discounted rate and raise money for a charities such as this years beneficiaries Peter Mac and the Leukemia foundation.
I was so excited for the store to open this past Saturday morning, I knew it would be crazy busy but I was going in with a mission! Success! I came out with a beautiful cream top with gold polka dots and my very own piece of the limited edition Castle/Gorman collaboration. A linen skirt with bright lettering "follow the call of the disco ball".
I love love love Rachel Castles work and was very excited when I heard she was collaborating with Lisa Gorman. Can't wait to take my skirt out and show it off.

Summer Holiday in SA

The day after boxing day was spent packing, packing for a five day adventure in South Australia camping at Aldinga Beach. We left very early in the morning on the 28th so we could make a few stops along the way.

The first stop was the sink holes and blue lake in Mount Gambier, such a beautiful sight.

Next stop the winery's of Penola & Coonawarra. We had some time to kill before the cellar doors opened so we checked out the Mary MacKillop historic buildings.

We stopped in at Hollick for lunch, such a treat, the food was amazing.

We finished the day with a drive along the coast checking out the local beaches we'd soon be enjoying.

Day two we were off nice and early, heading into the McLaren Vale tourist center to map out our route for the day. We went to four winery's and one brewery with a stop for lunch in the middle.

Day three we made the trip to Victor Harbour for the day, we walked along the bridge to Granite island to visit some very cute little penguins.

New years eve, off to the Farmers Market in Willunga to get some fresh produce for a New Years feast.

Our last day/night was mostly spent at the beach, it was such a beautiful spot, not to crowded and had the most beautiful coloured pebbles all along the sand.

The drive home was made a little more interesting with a stop for brunch in Hahndorf.

We had such a fantastic time it was so nice to really make the most of my time off and bring in the New Year relaxed and Happy.
